SUSTAINABILITY

As do many others, we understand sustainable architecture to be that which it always should have been, arising from the earth to continue to be part of it. From here we take the materials for construction (stone, earth, wood, straw …), the structure settled in its topography according to its orientation, with openings for wind, breezes, ways of access.

Much new technology has been being steadily developed for some time now, new forms of living, new knowledge and sensitivities, but as current as ever are those principles of sustainability, the correct application of which has come to dominate so-called passive, or bio-climatic, architecture. In short, this means constructing with the best possible harnessing of and direct-energy accumulation from the physical surroundings to condition the architecture by the simple yet adequate arrangement of the architecture in respect to its immediate environment.
